However, even if you are hiring movers and cleaners to help get your home in shape for new owners there are some things you can focus on ahead of time to get the most out of your cleaning.

Keep on reading to find out some helpful tips that your trusted cleaning company in Fort Collins recommends to do. With these tips, you will be able to get a deeper cleaning and the best end product possible!

What should I do to initially clean my stove and oven?

While there is so much to do when moving out of your home, we are proud to say that we have made booking your cleaning as efficient as possible so you can find the best cleaning company around.  As with all things cleaning related, decluttering your home is the first step towards making the most out of your cleaning time.  Assuming that you have spent some time on decluttering, getting your stove and oven ready for your cleaning is not too hard of a process.

Wipe away all loose crumbs and debris

A quick wipe down of all the loose debris in the oven and stove top will go a long way to getting the appliance ready for a deep cleaning.  Not only will the stove be easier to clean, it will look much better with just that simple task.

Pre-treat with degreaser

If you have a heavily used stove, one wet wipe of the area probably won’t be enough to get it looking like new.  Before you have a cleaning, pre-treat the stove top and oven with degreaser.  Just letting the degreaser sit for a few minutes will help to break down the grease and grime that has been caked on over the years.

You can also spray down the area around the stove with degreaser to help loosen it up.  This may include the hood vent, adjacent walls, and any light switches near the stove top.

Once the degreaser has sat for at least a few minutes, you can wipe it off with a microfiber cloth, sponge, or scouring pad (depending on the surface).  It may be best to do this a couple times as the grease will likely not come off so easily.  Working at these areas will help your cleaners be able to really tackle them thoroughly, leaving behind a much cleaner appliance.

You can do the same for the inside of the oven.  Spraying the degreaser inside, then closing the oven door will help the degreaser work onto the surfaces, loosening up caked on debris.  Wipe it out, and repeat as needed.  Make sure to also spray the degreaser onto the racks, as they will be caked up with food splatter and grease.

Run the self cleaner the day before

If your oven has a self cleaning option, you should run this the day before your cleaning.  This will heat the oven up to a very high temperature, and help to bake off all the caked on grease and grime.  When we arrive to clean your interior oven, we will be able to get it that much cleaner, as we can sweep out all the ash and debris, then go to work on wet wiping the interior to get it as shiny and as fresh as possible.

Buy new drip pans

If you have an electric stovetop, the best way to help it look fresh is to simply buy new drip pans.  The pans are really cheap, and will transform an even old stove into looking new again.  It can be very inefficient to clean drip pans, and usually they will not look like new again.  By getting new drip pans, your cleaners will be able to focus on other details in your home for a better and more comprehensive cleaning.

If you want to try to clean your drip pans, steel wool and degreaser are usually the best options.  Start by spraying the degreaser onto the drip pans, and then scrubbing them with the steel wool.  The steel wool shouldn’t scratch the pans, and the abrasive power will take off some of the caked on grease.  You will likely not be able to get the pans looking new again, unless they were lightly used, but it will be an improvement.

Make sure the drawers are empty of pots and pans

To give your cleaners the full ability to work at your stove and oven cleaning as best as possible, make sure that any drawers are cleared out of old pots and pans.  When you do this, you can also try to get any loose debris or trash that has fallen in there out, so we can go right to work on cleaning that space.
