Clean white baseboards

Let’s face it – baseboards aren’t fun to clean!  Luckily, they are relatively easy to clean, but it does require consistent effort to keep them spotless.  Follow the steps below to keep your baseboards shining!

1 – The first step to cleaning your baseboards is to dust them.  You can vacuum the baseboard surface with a soft attachment to remove dirt and dust.  Alternatively, you can dust the baseboards with a small broom or brush.

2 – The next step is to begin wiping down the baseboards to work on the stuck on grime, dirt, and stains.  This is especially important in your kitchen, where food spills and splatters find their way onto the baseboards.  To start, mix a bucket of warm water, mild dish soap, and some vinegar together. Dip a sponge or rag into the bucket, and wring out the excess water.  Scrub and wipe as needed to remove caked on grime or stains. You can use a toothbrush to help clean within any grooves on the baseboards. Once the baseboards are thoroughly wiped and scrubbed, dry them with a clean rag.

3 – For easy and quick maintenance in between deep cleanings, you can run a dryer sheet along the baseboards to help prevent static buildup, which attracts extra dust.
