Making your own laundry detergent is simple, cost effective, and great for people with sensitive skin. The following recipe uses just 3 ingredients: baking soda, washing soda, and castille soap.
To start grate 2 bars of castille soap (any type you like), and mix with 8 cups of baking soda, and 6 cups of washing soda. Store this in an airtight container. You can use a blender or food processor to make the castille soap a finer powder by pulsing it with some baking soda.
To wash your laundry, use anywhere from an 1/8 of a cup to a 1/4 cup of detergent. If you also want an all natural fabric softener, use a 1/2 cup of white vinegar in place of traditional store bought fabric softener.
This recipe is simple and effective, and will work with all laundry machine types and different water settings. You can experiment with different castille soap scents for fresh and clean smelling clothes!
